Staff Patient Care Coordinator

Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time 20-24 hours per week +additional hours as needed (subject to change)

Hours: Vary; may include occasional evening hours based on clinic needs

Job Position Summary: The Patient Care Coordinator creates the first impression for patients and guests at Education for Life’s medical clinic, Women’s Pregnancy Center. This role focuses on welcoming and checking in patients (and guests) for pregnancy appointments, answering phones and texts, scheduling appointments, and providing general clerical support in an atmosphere of compassion, respect, and professionalism while supporting the mission of the organization.

Reports to:

  • Direct Supervision: Lead Patient Care Coordinator (front-desk/non-medical operations)

  • Administrative: Sr. Manager of Patient Services (non-medical/front-desk services)

  • Organizational Oversight: Executive Director

Department: Medical Services

Qualifications:

  • Is a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ with evidence of Christian maturity in personal and professional life.

  • Expresses full agreement with EFL’s Statement of Faith and Code of Christian Conduct and is willing to adhere to and uphold the organization’s policies and procedures.

  • Holds a consistent life-affirming position and exhibits strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life

    position.

  • Is dependable and committed to the ministry of Education for Life.

  • Possesses a teachable spirit and functions well in a team environment.

  • Displays a friendly and professional demeanor.

  • Exhibits strong administrative and organizational skills, takes initiative and is flexible.

  • Displays a high attention to detail.

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.

  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Possesses basic computer/technology knowledge and has aptitude to learn database programs and systems.

  • Is willing to complete EFL/WPC and ongoing training, including role-specific certifications.

  • Bilingual a plus.

Essential Functions of the Staff Patient Care Coordinator: Perform the following duties in accordance with EFL Policies and Procedures.

• Carry out duties following EFL Policies and Procedures.

• Answer phone and route calls.

• Monitor and respond to text messaging during scheduled shifts (including assigned afterhours/holiday shifts).

• Provide phone counseling when appropriate.

• Manage appointment scheduling and check in/check out process according to the policies and procedures.

• Perform opening and/or closing duties.

• Perform clerical/other duties as assigned.

• Support the ministry’s faith-based mission through spiritual conversations, prayer, and sharing the gospel with patients as appropriate

Other:

  • Train and serve as an advocate as requested and needed.

  • Attend scheduled staff and in-service meetings.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Sr. Mgr. of Client Services and/or Executive Director.

  • Participate in major EFL fundraising events
