Staff Nurse

Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time (TBD) hours per week, + additional hours, as determined (subject to change)

Hours: Must be able to work Thursday evening; Daytime hours vary

Job Position Summary: The Staff Nurse (RN) provides medical services for Education for Life’s medical clinic, Women’s Pregnancy Center. This role focuses on delivering medical services, health education, referrals, and medical follow-up in an atmosphere of compassion, respect, and confidentiality while supporting the Christian mission of the organization.

Reports to:

  • Direct Supervision: Clinic Operations Director

  • Organizational Oversight: Executive Director

Department: Medical Services

Experience:

  • Licensed registered nurse and in good standing with the State Medical Board

  • CPR Certified

Qualifications:

  • Is a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ with evidence of Christian maturity in personal and professional life.

  • Has an active commitment in a local church.

  • Expresses full agreement with EFL’s Statement of Faith and Code of Christian Conduct and is willing to adhere to and uphold the organization’s policies and procedures.

  • Holds a consistent life-affirming position and exhibits strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position.

  • Is dependable and committed to the ministry of EFL.

  • Possesses a teachable spirit and functions well in a team environment.

  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.

  • Exhibits strong administrative and organizational skills.

  • Possesses good verbal/written communication skills to communicate with patients by phone/text.

  • Has basic computer skills and aptitude to learn database programs and systems.

  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity with patient information.

  • Is willing to complete EFL/WPC and ongoing training, including role-specific certifications

Essential Functions of the Staff RN: Perform the following duties in accordance with existing medical policies and procedures under and direction of the Clinic Operations Director.

Patient Care:

  • Provide patient services with compassion and respect.

  • Administer pregnancy tests, STI tests, health assessments, and deliver results

  • Perform limited obstetrical ultrasound (training provided).

  • Provide patient health education (pregnancy decision options, STI’s, APR, etc.), referrals for medical care/follow-up, and other pertinent community referrals.

  • Answer incoming medical phone calls/texts.

  • Conduct phone follow up with patients.

  • Support the ministry’s faith-based mission through spiritual conversations, prayer, and sharing the gospel with patients as appropriate.

  • Chart patient data accurately.

  • Assist with medical cleaning and sanitation.

Other:

  • Attend scheduled staff and in-service meetings.

  • Maintain current nursing license and CPR certification.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinic Operations Director.

  • Participate in major EFL fundraising events.
