Story #2: Leading the Way in the Pro-Life Movement
WPC’s first director, Julie Huband (now Julie Sparkman), stepped into the role of director with a deep conviction that women facing unplanned pregnancies deserved compassion, truth, and practical support. What followed was something our founders could have never imagined. In just three and a half years, under her leadership, the center grew into the largest pregnancy care center in the nation at the time.
But the growth wasn’t just about numbers. It was about lives. Women who walked through our doors afraid and uncertain found support, practical help, and people who truly cared. The foundation she helped build continues to impact generations today.
As we celebrate 45 years of ministry, we’re grateful for leaders who faithfully said “yes” to God’s call when the future was still unknown.
In this short video from our 40th Anniversary celebration, EFL’s former director, Alli Phillips, sits down with her to reflect on those early days, the challenges, the miracles, and the heart behind the mission.
Julie’s leadership reminds us that the impact of this ministry began with people who were willing to step forward in faith and help build something they never could have imagined.
As we celebrate 45 years of life-changing ministry, would you consider helping carry that legacy forward? Your support today helps ensure that the same compassion, care, and hope will be available for the women who walk through our doors tomorrow. Or would you consider becoming a monthly donor and joining our Abundant Life Alliance? Continuous support through monthly giving sustains this ministry as we reach beyond, allowing us to plan, grow, and remain a steady source of support for women and families who need it most.
Together, we can continue building a future filled with hope, healing, and abundant life for generations to come. Thank you for being part of this story.
