Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Audience:

  • Designed for healthcare providers with the appropriate medical background who have a duty to respond to medical emergencies. This includes: Paramedics, Doctors and Nurses as well as some Respiratory Therapists and Pharmacy Technicians.

  • HCP CPR is part of our curriculum. Participants must come to class prepared.

Description:

  The ACLS Provider Course is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult VF/VT arrest. Students are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: respiratory emergencies, 4 types of cardiac arrest (simple VT/VF, PEA and asystole), 4 types of prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycarda, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes), and strokes.

Core Elements:

  • Recognition and therapy of the major ACLS emergency conditions, including heart attack, stroke, airway management and electrical therapy.

  • Simulated team resuscitation.

Course Length:

• Full course
         o 12 hours (two-day format)
         o 10 hours (one-day format)
• Renewal course
           o 8.0 hours

Certification card issued upon successful completion.
